Food Delivery, Video Streaming Apps Coming To Japanese Wii U Systems Soon

This morning Nintendo posted up a new Chotto Nintendo Direct for 3DS and Wii U downloadable software. While the 3DS received a couple of new titles in the form of Chibi Robo and Denpa Men 3 the Wii U has gained three new service applications. Each of them cool and different in their own way.

The first is the Bandai Channel, it will stream anime and children’s video to the Wii U and is a pay monthly service. You can get one free month free trial.

The second channel is for YNN, which is a comedy, sport and anime streaming channel and like the Bandai channel requires a subscription. This one will launch in August.

Finally and the most important is the new Demae-can food delivery service. It will allow you to place orders for take out food.  Some of these channels were actually announced nearly 8 months ago, but like all things Wii U its taken a while to get going.

There is no chance in hell that any of these channels will ever make it outside Japan.

While we’re here, remember Nintendo TVii?

I hope Nintendo TVii has some on-demand anime channels, just because that would be pretty awesome. English dubs kinda suck, really.

Although, if TVii had non-game content and not only anime, but some channels that allow you to watch shows from around the globe, that would be pretty slick.
