Capcom not confirming Monster Hunter XX for Switch localisation “at this time”
There’s been a bit of a confusion and furore over some comments made to GameSpot around Monster Hunter XX and its localisation or lack thereof.
GameSpot yesterday originally reported that Capcom said to them that Monster Hunter XX would not be localised in the west for the Nintendo Switch.
Since that original story, Capcom, via its Monster Hunter Twitter account has said something different;
Just to clarify: our official response is we have not announced any plans to localize MHXX at this time. https://t.co/mI31mcrrvE

At this point, it seems if Monster Hunter XX is to come to Switch in the west, Capcom really don’t want to announce it yet. If it’s not then, they’re really wanting to push Monster Hunter World instead. Whatever the case is, “no plans to localise (MHXX) at this time” is still kind of vague.

Are you f’ing serious?? I knew this was going to happen when I saw the “world” announcement. They are basically trying to say politely “it’s not coming”.
From here on out – I’ll just treat it like it doesn’t exist until it comes, because that’s probably what’s going to happen. Too busy finishing World and localising that to focus on XX which might not get as many sales as its a port.
Also of note – STILL no announcements for the monster hunter Amiibo even though Stories is coming later this year!
It would be a shame if MHXX doesn’t get localised here, I know World is gonna extend its audience by a large margin, but show some love to us switch owners in the west. Unless you’re saving us up for MH5 lol
