Batman Arkham Origins Announced for Consoles, Spin-off Title for Handhelds

The latest issue of Game Informer magazine has finally confirmed Batman Arkham Origins. It’s a prequel to the previous Arkham games and is coming to all consoles – yes even the Wii U.

Origins as the name suggest will have you step into the boots of a younger Batman and introduce you to some of the games big characters for the first time. The game isn’t being developed by Rocksteady, the developer of the previous two titles but instead WB Montreal.

As well as console games, the 3DS and Vita will be receiving a separate game called Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate. It is currently in development by Armature Studio a company founded by some of the people who made Metroid Prime Trilogy.

Unlike the console game which will have similar gameplay to the other Arkham games the handheld version will be a 2.5D Metroid style game and is set after the console titles.

The game will be out on October 25th on both consoles and the handhelds.

The game fully detailed in the latest Game Informer magazine and on their site, expect to see more of the game in the coming weeks.

I’m Very interested to see how the Wii U version performs next to the other consoles seeing as this one will be built at the same time as the others. Arkham city frame rate was horendous so hopefully they blew out the cobwebs and this one will be much better.

Also very interested in the hand held version. Could be really cool

The 3DS / Vita game sounds promising. I hope those devs played a lot of Mark Of The Ninja.
