August NPD sales down for just about everyone
Wii and DS slowing down as others catch up
The August NPD sales charts have been revealed and its bad news all around. Both handheld and console sales are down as is software. The Wii and DS are way down from where they used to be, and the Xbox 360 has been spurred by its new form factor which has helped it claim 1/3 of all new hardware sales.
On the game side of things it was all Madden at the top but Nintendo had success with Super Mario Galaxy 2 staying in tight. The New Super Mario Bros. games on the DS and Wii show no sign of slowing down either with both of them high up in the charts.
