America will be chock-a-block of Nintendo 3DS XL special edition consoles soon

Nintendo of America has announced not one, not two but three separate Nintendo 3DS XL Limited Edition designs for release this Christmas period.

All of which are the old Nintendo 3DS XL model. Well current model, they’re not old yet.

The first is an interesting looking NES themed model, it has a giant controller on the outside and coloured buttons styled after the NES on the inside. It’s interesting to say the least… the box now that’s spectacular as it actually looks like a NES complete with AV ports and all.

This one is exclusive to Gamespot, they must be pretty pissed too because its out the same day as the New 3DS XL launches in Japan.

The second limited edition is a Person Q Edition is out in november and ties in with the games release. It’s an interesting looking design for sure but there’s no word as it how it looks inside.

The final and third design is the Super Smash Bros. design we all know and has been available here in Australia.

We wonder how much damage the new model in Japan will stop these from selling, then again they’re very pretty.

If they’re headed to Australia you’ll be the first to know. No really, who am I going to tell, me Mum?

I think the best part about the NES edition is the box. I think it’s kinda stupid having the controller graphic on top of the unit, why not do the logical thing and have it on the inside? I think there’s been fan mockups in the past that look a lot nicer.

The Persona Q version on the other hand looks beautiful though. Shame they are not the ‘new’ 3DS’s…guess it doesn’t matter, doubtful they’d make it to Aus anyways,

I’ll leave now, think i’ve vented enough negativity.
