In what appears to be complete and utter stupidity, Greg Canessa the Xbox Live Arcade group manager has spoken out about what he thinks of Nintendo’s Virtual Console and Sony’s “”whatever”" online system. Now while we’re not “”dissing”" what XBLA has done for the Xbox360 and what fun games like Smash TV and Geometry Wars are. We do think however that coming out and saying “”A lot of those Nintendo games, you know, aren’t gonna hold up.”" is complete and utter lunacy, 20 years of Triple A Nintendo games don’t “”hold up”" up against other Retro classics such as Joust and Smash TV? Yeah right mate keep taking the happy pills.
And don’t think Sony are exempt from this man’s wrath. “”If Sony is trying to come at us, you know… ‘good luck.’ It’s going to be really hard for them. It’s just a huge engineering challenge, and beyond the engineering challenge, it takes a long time to build a community.”"
Mr Canessa I think you should listen to your boss Peter Moore who is quoted as saying “”You never underestimate the power of your competition.”" While i’m not saying Sony’s “”Live”" service will be good or bad, Nintendo’s Virtual Console’s range of games can’t be beaten.
