Team 17 say theyre discussing a WiiWare title, but believe Nintendo still have work to do with their online service
Speaking in a new interview, Martyn Brown has revealed that Team 17 is in the talks with Nintendo to develop a WiiWare title. But at the same time say the Big N has a lot to do to improve their online service.
Likening the WiiWare service to Apple’s App Store calling it “a little Wild West at the moment”, Brown believe that while the Wii’s install base is large, not all of them are connected to the Internet. "My theory on Nintendo in that because of the way they handle online gaming as a number, they’re two steps away from social interaction – and the shopping experience isn’t so great, either. I think they know they’ve got to get a presence there because that’s the way it’s going." said Brown.
Despite this, Team 17 are looking into development on WiiWare but don’t expect to see anything from them anytime soon.
