New figures for the hardware sales of consoles have been unveiled today, first off the Wii is now at 80,000 sales locally, the last figures we received had the Wii at 68,000 which was at the start of April meaning that about 12,000 Wii’s were sold in the last month. The PS3 despite its behemoth price tag has sold 36,000 consoles since its launch in March putting it still behind what the Wii sold in its first reported period. Last but not least is the Xbox 360 which is now at 160,000 sales. So the Wii has now sold 1/2 of what the Xbox 360 did in a year in 5 months, lets hope Nintendo keep up releases and keep the ball rolling. Source News.com.au
