Wii production to expand to ease supply issues

Still cant find a Wii at your local gaming outlets? Well never fear, Nintendo are looking to expand their production capabilities by getting contracts with other companies. Currently, Foxconn Precision Components are the people manufacturing all the chips and parts that go into the little white box of joy. But clearly they just cant do it fast enough to meet demand so to fix this, Nintendo are looking for one more partner.

More Inside Asustek Computer, Compal Electronics, Inventec and Wistron are noted as the companies who are aggressively chasing the deal. So what does this mean for us you ask? Well, with a second company manufacturing Wiis, theoretically there should be twice as many Wiis becoming available for purchase meaning the wide spread shortage should be slowed and every one can get their hands on one and this can mean only good things for Nintendo.
