The June NPD is in and, as Reggie said in the Nintendo conference on Tuesday, the Wii is now the console leader in the United States; finally overtaking the Xbox 360 just 20 months into its life cycle. The Wii now sits at nearly 10.0 million units after selling 666,000 last month. The DS continues to do well, with 783,000 units sold in June; making it the top telling video game system in June. The DS total in the US now stands at 20.8 million. Software sales also favoured Nintendo, with 6 spots taken up by games on the Wii and DS.
