Wii down for July US NPD results, 360 soars

Its half way through the year and Wii sales are down, DS is just swimming along however

Here are the July sales figures for the major video game consoles and handhelds on the market. The Wii is down, the DS powers along and the refresh of the 360 has obviously done well. The PSP should just be taken out the back and shot.

Hardware

Xbox 360 – 443.5K units
DS – 398.4K units
Wii – 253.9K
PS3 – 214.5K units
PSP- 84K units

Software

Notable figures include software at $403.3 million, hardware at $313.8 million, total industry sales of $846.5 million and total industry sales (year-to-date) in the U.S. of $7.51 billion. This is reportedly behind 2009’s pace by eight percent.
