In a report on Yahoo Business, Nintendo has announced that it will announced a Wii release and price by September, further adding to the announcements of announcements that the Wii has had. Iwata has said previously the Wii will not launch for more then 25,000 Yeh or $250US dollars and reconfirmed that today.

Also Iwata told press that Nintendo expects to see little impact on its profit from sales of the Wii. While Nintendo still plans to sell 6 million Wii consoles in the year to next March and 17 million units of Wii software, could Iwata’s prediction be due to the Wii being cheaper then we though, or could possibly more be packed into the console and thus having a tighter profit margin? We’ll just have to wait and see but it is looking positive.
Nintendo also announced plans to boost its production of the Nintendo DS from 2 to 2.2 million units, Nintendo previously produced 1.6 million.
