Wii and Nintendo top April NPD Charts

The April NPD charts are in for America and its an interesting one to say the least. First up, Nintendo has even more reason to celebrate as the Wii tops 714,000 for the month and the Nintendo DS on 414,000. The Wii has now outsold all the other consoles this month combined and Wii Fit hasnt been released yet. GTAIV also hit for 5 days of the tracking period of these charts, but even that was not enough to boost the sales of the Xbox 360 or Playstation3; though the game still sold well. More inside All in all, the American Hardware sales in April grew 26 percent to $426.2 million and software fared well too, jumping 68 percent to $654.7 million.
