Ubisoft announced today a $24 million USD deal with Atari for the rights of the Driver franchise. The deal is which is said to be confirmed later, it is said to include all technology rights, most assests and the 80 staff members of the driver developer Reflections Interactive.
Ubisoft have yet to announce any details on what will happen to the franchise and how they will handle it. Ubisoft say are thrilled with the purchase and are more than happy to incorperate the title into their portfolio. With Ubisoft being on a Wii-kick at the moment, could a new version of Driver be making its way to Nintendo’s new console?
