An interview with Sakamoto reveals some insight into Metroids future

Yoshio Sakamoto, co-creator of Metroid and director of Metroid: Other M, has stated in a recent interview that he would enjoy working with Team Ninja again and that if a direct sequel to Metroid: Other M was even considered, Team Ninja would have to be involved.

“There’s always the possibility and if the opportunity comes I’m very willing to work with Team Ninja once again,” Sakamoto said on working with the developer on a linear-extension of Metroid: Other M. However he also said that he personally does not quite yet know where he is going to take the Metroid franchise. He also added that if hes "going to decide that it’s going to be a different story for the next Metroid adventure… Team Ninja might not be the choice for us to collaborate with.”

Metroid: Other M was released in Australia on September 2nd. Be sure to check out our review of the game.

Gaming has, is, and always will be a core element of my life. I’m considering studying Video Game Design, as well as continuing my journalism here at Vooks. I always look for games that challenge me and are innovative in design and presentation. I also work at a grocery store. It's shocking, but I really am that awesome.
