Nintendo has just issued a rather boastful press release that Super Mario Galaxy has sold over 500,000 copies in its first week on sale in the US. It also makes Galaxy the strongest one-week debut of any Wii game and the best selling Mario game ever in its first week on sale. Nintendo Americas George Harrison also said that “”It makes an easy gift choice as the holiday shopping season kicks off. The release also asks the question Could Super Mario Galaxy be the best video game of all time? citing the success the game has had on aggregate review sites.
