The Wii is now the fastest selling console in the UK, ever. Hooray
In just three years the Wii has surpassed six million units sold in the UK. This now means it is the fastest selling home console in the UK history. The Black coloured Wii with added bonuses helped the console reach this milestone in just two years and 51 weeks.
Launched in December 2006, the Wii sold 185,000 for the rest of the year, the year after 1.81 million sold, then in 2008 2.73 million were sold. However, 2009 is down on 1.31 million. While this figure is lower, the biggest weeks of the year are yet to come.
