Required learning: NDS mandatory in Japanese classrooms

Ten schools in the Osaka region of Japan have issued government-subsidised NDS handhelds for each of their students in elementary (same thing as Primary here in AU) and junior high schools. Students are required to bring their government-owned NDS to class, but for those concerned that the major console companies are using schools as a marketing ground for their products, remember- Japan has more educational and non-gaming titles than other regions. My guess is that the handhelds are indeed for these educational purposes, rather than power-grinding your Chimchar to level 14. Source: NWR
