Rareware games to be Rare on Revolution

According the latest blog entry by IGNs Matt Casamassina , it seems that most Rare games that have appeared on previous Nintendo consoles will not be appearing on the Revolution’s Virtual Console as many had suspected (hoped). It seems last week while attending the GDC Matt met up with some staff members from Rare/Microsoft who confirmed that the Rare owned licensed games will not be making it to the Virtual Console service.

These games include favorites such as Goldeneye 007, Perfect Dark, Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, Conkers Bad Fur Day and Jet Force Gemini, games that will make the grade (due to them being owned by Nintendo) are, Donkey Kong 64 and Diddy Kong Racing and the Donkey Kong Country series.

While the blog of a editor can’t be called conclusive proof, its just another tentative notch on the “”Not going to happen”" list. It’s good to remember though there are plenty of other excellent Non-Rare games to play on the Virtual Console, if indeed this turns out to be true.
