Who says films based on video games cant be good? *glares at Super Mario Bros. film*

British anime distributor Manga Entertainment has just revealed plans to release Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva on DVD and Blu-ray this September.

The film, released last December in Japan, reached the sixth position in Japanese box offices. Believe us when we say it stays true to the Professor Layton games – it was written by Akihiro Hino, who designed the series on the DS, and has similar music, puzzles and characters. Plus, it was created by OLM Inc., the studio behind the Pokémon anime series and films.

The film was released with English subtitles when it came out in Singapore last month. Its not yet confirmed whether the voices in the film will be dubbed by actors from the English games or the original Japanese track will remain for this release.
