Layton is back with over 150 new puzzles and its heading to Europe on September 25

Professor Layton and his apprentice return in Professor Layton and Pandora’s Box – the sequel to the brain-bending Professor Layton and the Curious Village. There are more than 150 new puzzles in the game as Luke and Professor Layton set out on a voyage of discovery to uncover the mysteries surrounding the suspicious death of Professor Layton’s mentor, Dr Schrader.

The professor’s trunk includes three new minigame puzzles;

The Camera, which must be fixed, but once is you’ll be able to take photos and do a type of "what’s changed" puzzle. The second new item in the trunk is a hamster. Unfortunately, the hamster is a bit overweight and you’ll have to collect parts of his exercise course to get him back on track. Lastly, the Tea Set allows you to easily mix up a pot of herbal tea. But depending on what you add to the mix, it might not come out as expected.

Pandora’s Box also includes new puzzles downloaded via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, a new puzzle will be available each week after the game launches. Fans of the first game will also be able to unlock a special puzzle with a password from the first game.

It’s great to see Layton back again on the DS outside Japan. Let’s hope since Europe is getting it, we’ll be getting it too. The first game even had a TV campaign here, so we hope this means the second is a shoe-in. We can’t be too certain anymore.
