Pokmon, Wii & DS obliterate competition during April in the US

The latest NPD charts from America have been released, and yet again it’s good news for Nintendo with not only 4 Nintendo games on the top but the Wii and DS is still selling like hotcakes. Topping the software charts were of course the Pokmon games with Pokmon Diamond and Pearl selling a combined 1.7 million copies. After that Super Paper Mario sold great shifting 352,000 units with Wii Play rounding out the four with 249k. 360 and PS2 games filled the rest of the top ten with no PS3 games in sight. That, however, is not strange when you look at the total hardware sales for each console.

More Inside Let’s get this right out the way, the PS3 is selling well below what I’m sure many thought it would and it’s still being out sold by the lowly Game Boy Advance. Moving onto positive news though, the DS has sold an impressive 471,000 units – no doubt being spurred by the Pokmon Games. The Wii, now in full supply (or less restrained), has sold through a huge 360,000 units.

Great news for Nintendo, not so much for the rest.
