Film distributor Toho claims that all 11 Pokemon films (movie, DVD or otherwise) have grossed over 50 billion yen- about $455 million US, or $530 million Australian. The most recently released movie in Japan, Giratina and the Sky’s Bouquet: Shaymin, has raked in $32 million US since the July 19 release. The first movie, Mewtwo Strikes Back, was released back in good old 1998. Ten years later and there are still Pokemon movies being made to great success. Just a fad huh? Source: Variety
