A new trademark has been filed by Nintendo Japan: What could Zii mean?

Nintendo has filed a new trademark in Japan – ’Zii’ was filed in the Japanese trademark system on October 30th but has only just been updated on the site today.

One could assume this is a ’typo trademark’ (meaning they’re protecting the name so consumers ’don’t get confused,’ however this is usually done soon after or before a product’s release. Strangely Creative (makers of MP3 Players and such) have a subsidiary called ZiiLabs also known as Zii, ruh oh.

So what could this be? Rumours of the next Wii have been floating around for a while… nah, they wouldn’t call it that… right? Speculate in the forums!
