Nintendo releases Wii Firmware update, nothing too exciting

digg_url = ‘http://digg.com/nintendo/Nintendo_releases_Wii_Firmware_update’;Nintendo has updated the Wiis Firmware today taking users from 3.1E/U to version 3.2E/U depending on your region. The update Nintendo says has no noticeable difference visibly, but it will change some of the behind the scenes workings to improve system performance as well as a small change to the disc channel. For those who use homebrew, as expected the Twilight Princess hack still works. However side effects for mod chip users have not been discovered, so perhaps hold off on an update for now. Everyone else, go for it! More inside.

Changes

From this version of the Wii Menu onwards, Wii SYSTEM UPDATE will be displayed in the disc channel when you insert a Wii Disc that contains an update for the Wii Menu or for a Channel on the Wii Menu.

If the update contained on the Wii Disc is not necessary for your Wii console, the Disc Channel will be displayed normally.
