Nintendo kicks off holiday shopping season with a bang

The Nintendo DS and Wii continue to break more records with Nintendo of America announcing some fresh record breakage today. According to a press release issued this morning Nintendo of America has sold more Nintendo products than any other time its history. For the first week of the holiday shopping season, specifically Thanksgiving week the Nintendo has sold more than 653,000 DS units and 350,000 Wii systems. More inside The previous record was for the Gameboy Advance over the same period back in 2005 with 600,000 units. The one year later and its still sold out Wii has sold more units in one week than any other week this year except for the launch week in November last year. The Nintendo DS is still on track to be the best selling console this year and this all without a price drop.
