Hearsay time: Before N-Gage Nintendo and Nokia planned a mobile phone, but then it was scrapped

New information has allegedly coming to light that in the early 2000s Nintendo and then phone giant Nokia had planned to build a gaming device that also was a phone. The device was building built at Nintendo in Japan and got all the way to prototype form before being scrapped. Nokia of course then went on to make the N-Gage, remember that thing?

No

Pocket Gamer who have broken the news say they don’t know why Nintendo dropped out, perhaps it had something to do with the Nintendo DS seemingly having a better future. Nintendo has said that new Nintendo 3DS will ‘always be connected’, many have speculated that this means that it will have 3G chip it but so far there is no concrete details on that either.

Nintenokia phone? Good idea or bad idea?
