Next Nintendo console to use Intel chip?

Rumours suggest that Nintendos next console could have a Intel Processor.

Nintendos last two consoles have had very similar architecture but according to new reports, Intel has been trying to change that. According to a report at Japanese site Impress Watch, Intel has been attempting to get Nintendo to use its Larrabee processor.

Because this new processor is way more advanced then what the Wii currently has, it would probably be for a true next generation console not a Wii HD, if such a thing does exist. There isnt any concrete information apart from the fact that the talks are on.

If Nintendo was to adopt a new CPU for its next console it would make backwards compatibility for Wii and GameCube games impossible, that being said the current Wii architecture is quite old perhaps it cant go any further.
