The truth in Mr. Iwatas comments about the DSi successor has become a war of words as the saga continues

Less than two weeks ago, we brought you news that Nintendo CEO, Satoru Iwata, had confirmed the next iteration of the DS would have a high-resolution screen and motion sensing. Then just a few days ago, we received word that a Nintendo spokesperson had denied the comments Iwata had made in an interview with Japanese newspaper, Asahi Shimbun. Here’s what he had to say.

"Mr. Iwata did not make any comments regarding the functions of Nintendo’s future hardware systems," said Charlie Scibetta, Nintendo of America’s senior director of corporate communications. "The answer to the reporter’s question was misinterpreted."

We asked you whether you thought Iwata accidentally spilled some information, or the newspaper article itself was actually incorrect. Well, it looks like things have become more serious now, with the newspaper coming out and defending its reporter, claiming that “the article quoted Nintendo President Satoru Iwata’s comment accurately.”

So, does this cement your belief that Iwata made a boo-boo after all, or do you still think the article may have inaccurately quoted him?
