Nintendo has issued a small statement to announced New Super Mario Bros. for Nintendo DS has sold half a million units in the U.S. since its launch on 15 May 2006, which equates to a sell rate of 20 units every minute.
New Super Mario Bros. has collectively been praised among the gaming community for its blend of old school Mario platforming action, and new aspects such as moves and powerups.
