Fans of the incredibly popular Square Enix, perhaps best known for their Final Fantasy series, were no doubt shocked at the decision to open a development studio in California. But what will the western studio be making? Well, we don’t know exactly what they’re doing… but we know they’re making downloadable games. They will be made for WiiWare, as well as Xbox Live and Playstation Network. More inside The new studio should speed up development time for future Square Enix titles and help build ties with other western studios – but, uh… let’s just hope this little excursion fares better than some of their other western outings. Does anybody remember what happened to Square Pictures?
