June NPD shows good results for the DS, third parties get a slice

The Wii and Nintendo DS have again topped the US NPD charts but its MotionPlus which has proven a winner

The NPD charts have had a shake up this month, Wii Fit and Mario Kart are their like usual but EA has had a win with Tiger Woods 10 and EA Sports Active coming within the top 5 position on the chart. What’s great to see is that no other consoles versions of Tiger Woods appear on the charts. That means there is not only a good bunch MotionPlus accessories out there but also a lot of people like golf and like it on the Wii.

The other chart item that needs discussing is the The Conduit, while it didn’t appear in the top ten, rumours have it placed at about 72,000 copies sold – which isn’t huge by any stretch of the imagination but a lot better then Madworld. Wii games also have a different shelve life to other consoles so first month sales may be irrelevant. We hope it continues to sell well for Sega and High Voltages sake but also more mature games on the Wii.
