Two days ago was the Wiis 2nd Birthday, and its managed to sell 750,000 units so far in Australia, nearly selling 5 times over what the GameCube did here previously
With at least a few years left on the Wiis life, who knows how far the Wii will go? Theres also plenty of time for third parties to redeem themselves for certain terrible games they may have made in the past. Also with sales looking so good this far, and the Wii being the fastest selling console in Aussie history, its easy to see the Wii becoming the highest selling console ever here.
