Homebrew Playstation emulator for Wii underway

The Wii is able to play games from many different consoles – some not even Nintendo – through the Virtual Console. Wouldn’t it be great if the old PlayStation 1 was added to the list? Oh, but that’s ridiculous – Sony would never allow it. The next best thing? Why, emulate it of course! Thanks to the upcoming homebrew application “”WiiSX”", Wii owners will be able to run Playstation games. We’re sure more than a few of you feel a little giddy at the prospect of playing all those great Final Fantasy titles on a Nintendo console. Although the idea of it is a bit weird. More inside Current progress sounds limited. Reportedly, it “”can handle some games”" and “”runs at a very playable speed”". At the moment it can only play ISO files from SD, but USB and DVD support is planned – meaning eventually it may be possible to play Playstation games from disc on your Wii. Playstation games that you bought legally.
