It seems Nintendo and Harvey Norman are back in negotiations to stock the Wii after last year initially being shunned by Nintendo. It seems now that this reluctance to sell the Wii at launch last year was in part due to shortages of the Wii system but Nintendo now says that this is not a problem. As we know the Wii had been sold out worldwide for some time.
More Inside So what has caused this backflip from both companies compared to 7 months ago? As for the last four years neither company has done business with each other. “”I don’t think stock is the only hurdle at the moment, just logistical issues that come down to sales and trading terms,”" says Nintendo Australia spokesman Vispi Bhopti where as Harvey Norman say they have not been able to get stock.
Nintendo Australia also says that there is no deadline for the agreement. While the GameCube was a disappointing console sales wise in Australia, the Wii and more so the Nintendo DS are doing much better, Harvey Norman obviously want a piece of the pie and are obviously ready to play ball.
