Those hackers dont take long. A mere few months after launch, and the Wii has its first modchip, dubbed the Wiinja. At the moment it can only play Wii and GameCube backups of the same region (imports could be considered the main reason for modchipping). The chippers website reveals that it will cost 39 Euros and is easy to install However apart from the obvious legal issues, the modchip is not upgradeable so once its on thats it. And of course it will void your brand new Wiis warranty.
