More details are trickling out regarding Dead Space: Extractions unique gameplay style. A feature article in Gameinformer magazine has detailed the games non-linear, branching-paths survival adventure, which takes full advantage of both the pointer- and motion-controls of the Wii remote. Players will be using the remote to solve puzzles, not just fight off horrifying space zombies. Twisting the remote will orient the players dismemberment-capable weapon accordingly, originally a button-press in the first game. More inside To accentuate the tension, the on-rails sections will slow down within specified areas as you fight off encroaching monsters. Heres a nice immersive touch- audio logs that you pick up will be played through the Wii remotes speaker, providing a very personal background to the plot. And finally the news that gives me the most chills- shaking the Wii remote will set off a green-glowing lightstick. This suggests to me that portions of the game are played in complete darkness, and players will have to briefly break from the action to activate the light in order to keep seeing the enemies- Terrifying!
