Nintendo says the DS Lite will remain in production but DSis will be the focus
Speaking to MCV Nintendo has said that they will continue to build the DS Lite. “Our current plans are to continue manufacturing Nintendo DS Lite globally. The DS Lite has been a highly popular handheld console and has brought fun to an expanded audience of gamers – male and female; young and old – and sales remain strong. That said, it is true that our key focus in the UK for 2010 will be the Nintendo DSi and DSi XL.”
So far this decision only is only confirmed to affect the UK so far with other regions not signally their intentions with what to do with the DS Lite yet. While the DSi is has DSiWare and a bunch more features the DS Lite still plays DS games exactly the same and for cheaper its value is obviously high enough for Nintendo to keep it around.
