Ashes Cricket arrives on the Wii later this year in Australia simple dubbed Cricket

We knew that Namco Bandai had something up their sleeves for the Aussie release of Ashes Cricket on the Wii, we just didn’t expect this. ‘Cricket’ as it will be named here in Australia is now set for an Australian release of November 5th. The press release states that Nintendo Australia and Namco Bandai Australia will be working together on the release, but we don’t know how, perhaps some sort of advertising deal.

The game features fully licenced Australian and English cricket teams as well six other Test playing nations and ten stadiums from around the world. The Wii remote is used to both bat and bowl and it playable for up to four players.

A cricket game on the Wii has long been a sort after commodity with fan campaign dating back to the launch of the Wii running in order to get a game on the system. The game is not receiving any changes from its UK Ashes Cricket cousin just the name change. Cricket will hit stores on November 5th.
