Square Enix have announced that the next iteration (after the still to be released Dragon Quest IX on the DS) of the Dragon Quest franchise is headed to the Wii. Dragon Quest X will move the numbered entries of the series back to the home consoles once again. Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii revealed at the Square-Enix conference that “”[Square-Enix is] currently developing Dragon Quest X on Wii.”" Nintendo President Satoru Iwata then took the stage and grinningly confirmed with the merry statement, “”Thanks very much for announcing Dragon Quest X on Wii!”" At the event Dragon Quest IX was also confirmed for a March 28 release in Japan.
